Autumn Cohen is the mother to two living daughters and her stillborn son, Bastion Porter Cohen. He was born March 25, 2020, days after a healthy 37 week prenatal check up. In his honor, she sends birthday cards to thousands of babies gone-too-soon yearly (@stilllovedfoundation). She has also created a baby memorial journal for bereaved parents to cherish their sweet babies (@inmemoryofyoubook). This book is filled with comforting illustrations, prompts, and gentle reassurance for parents while grieving.
M.E.N.D. is a Christian, non-profit organization. M.E.N.D. offers a variety of monthly support groups, including an online support group, publishes bi-monthly magazines which are distributed all over the world, has very active Facebook groups for families to connect with each other, hosts annual remembrance ceremonies, and regularly gives presentations to healthcare providers on how to care for families when a baby dies.
NILMDTS is a photography organization of volunteer photographers, most of whom have lost a child themselves. They offer free photography services in hospital for you and your family to document your beautiful baby.
When Pamela and Paul Caine lost their son Griffin Matthew at 13 days old in 1996, their lives were turned upside down. In their grief they created this non-profit to help other families connect to the support system they need during the most difficult time in their lives.
Tijuana Reeve developed an oral history project to not only honor her son Keanu’s memory, but to also memorialize the stories of other babies that died too soon. These interviews are recorded, then housed in a digital archive in Special Collections at the Swem Library at William & Mary. You can read more about her misson and her “why” on her website.
